THE PULSE ON TOUR - NYC - JULY 28, 29 2011

INTRO
I am honored to be asked to participate in the 2011 Pulse NYC dates and look forward to photographing this years fresh faces.
2011 marks my 23rd year as a professional photographer in NYC shooting actors, models and dancers.

SESSION INFO
I will be shooting in the Grand Hyatt Hotel conference rooms this year so it will be a nice comfortable air-conditioned studio setup.
Please check back to this page as we get closer to the event as I will add more info as it comes to mind.

WHAT TO BRING
Please bring bottled water, snack, portable mirror, makeup, lip gloss/chapstick, hair products, bobby pins and tissue to the shoot. Additionally, I would recommend bringing your favorite mp3 music mix on a SD or CF memory card (or an iPod or other mp3 player). I will have a small portable sound system so you can listen to your favorite music while we shoot. I find that this dramatically improves the results of the sessions. You may consider eating a snack or power bar before the shoot so you have more energy.

SKIN/HAIR PREP
Please ensure your hair is in good condition or cut the week before the session. Women's photo shoot makeup should be clean and simple. Keep in mind that you may be coming directly from a dance class to the photo shoot so prepare accordingly. If using foundation, ensure it is the lightest formula possible with a layer of translucent powder on top to eliminate any shine. Eye makeup should be neutral and I recommend using black mascara. Eyeliner is ok but apply carefully/minimally - avoid using liquid eyeliner. Lip color should only be a shade darker than your natural color. Tinted lip gloss is fine and can look more natural than lipstick if matted by carefully applying a tissue to the lips after application. Women, please ensure any facial hair that needs to be removed, is done so the day before the shoot. Not all hair removal can be realistically accomplished with digital retouching plus hair removal is not included with basic retouching and additional charges may be applied. Men should bring loose translucent powder (oil absorbent) matched to their skin tone to minimize any facial shine. Skin issues on men are better removed after with retouching rather than with makeup before - it is a more natural result. Everyone should drink at least two quarts of water each day the week before the shoot to ensure good skin texture in the photos.

WARDROBE
Wardrobe styling should be simple and casual to draw more attention to your personality. Please bring three clothing choices that you feel are perfect and together we will select the best one or two based on your look, my backgrounds and available time. Consider a top to layer on top of another for an quick alternate look. Bring items that are quick and easy to change into. Please avoid the color white, bold stripes, busy prints/patterns and colors close to your skin tone. Choose colors that you know look good on you. I love black tops! Good choices are halter tops, any top with thin spaghetti straps or leotard with a nice neckline. Jeans, leggings or shorts are fine for the bottom.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
During the allotted time slot, we will shoot 50-100 images of 1 or 2 outfits (depending on the length of time it takes for you to "warm up" to the camera). You will receive a CD containing all your photos. I will deliver the CDs to the Pulse staff late Saturday and they will distribute them on Sunday July 31. I will also highlight my choices of the best photos on the CD to help you pick. The files included on the CD will be all the full size originals as well as smaller sized copies to make it easier/quicker for you to view the images or upload to websites.

OPTIONAL SERVICES
I also offer expert natural facial retouching of your photos if you need it. This can be done anytime in the future. In addition to retouching my own clients, I also retouch for several other NYC headshot photographers.
